What does "dedicated vCPU" actually mean?

The processor cores allocated to your server are reserved for it and are not time-shared with other customers. On a standard cloud plan, cores are shared and your available throughput moves with everyone else's load. Dedicated cores remove that variance, which is why these plans cost more than an equivalent shared one.

Which of the four should I choose?

Whichever is named after the resource you run out of first. If jobs finish slowly and the processors sit at 100%, take CPU Optimized. If you are swapping or your cache keeps evicting, take Memory Optimized. If the disk fills, take Storage Optimized. If none of those stands out, General Purpose is the right default.

Are these billed hourly like the GPU plans?

No. Optimized Cloud plans are billed monthly at the price shown, on a normal renewal invoice. Our Cloud GPU and VX Compute ranges are the hourly ones.

Can I move up a plan later?

Yes, within the same family — more cores, memory or disk on the server you already have, without rebuilding it. Moving between families, for example CPU Optimized to Memory Optimized, is a new deployment rather than a resize.

How do these compare to your VPS Hosting plans?

VPS Hosting is the shared-core range: excellent value, and the right answer for most sites. Optimized Cloud is for when shared cores are the problem — when you need the performance to be consistent rather than merely good on average.

Is storage included?

Yes. Every plan includes its NVMe storage, shown in the table, already attached. The Storage Optimized family simply carries considerably more of it per core.
