This policy covers everything running on Global Web Concepts infrastructure — websites, email, servers, and anything you install on them. It exists so that one customer's activity cannot degrade the service everyone else is paying for.
The short version: do not use our infrastructure to harm people, to break the law, or to consume so much of a shared machine that other customers on it suffer.
NOT ALLOWED, WITH NO WARNING GIVEN
Sending unsolicited bulk email from our network, or using our network to advertise a site that is promoted by spam sent elsewhere. Phishing pages, fake login screens, and anything else built to harvest credentials. Distributing malware, exploit kits, or ransomware. Running attacks against other systems, including port scanning, brute-forcing, and participating in a denial-of-service attack. Hosting child sexual abuse material — which is reported, not merely removed.
These result in immediate suspension because the damage is ongoing while we deliberate.
NOT ALLOWED, BUT WE WILL TALK TO YOU FIRST
Content infringing someone else's copyright or trademark. Deliberately misrepresenting who you are in order to deceive people. Storing another organisation's personal data without a lawful basis for holding it.
RESOURCE USE ON SHARED HOSTING
Shared hosting is shared. A plan's advertised limits are what your site may consume, and a site that consistently exceeds them will be asked to move to a VPS or dedicated server rather than being left to slow the machine down for everyone else on it.
Some things belong on a VPS or dedicated server rather than a shared plan, regardless of how much CPU they use: public file-sharing or mirroring services, long-running background daemons, cryptocurrency mining, and public proxies or VPN exit nodes. On your own VPS or dedicated server these are your call, subject to the rest of this policy.
EMAIL SPECIFICALLY
Mailing lists must be opt-in, with a working unsubscribe link and a record of consent you can produce if asked. Do not forge headers or envelope senders. Do not relay mail for third parties.
SECURITY IS PART OF THIS
Keep what you install patched. Most compromised sites we see are an out-of-date plugin, not a break-in through the server. A compromised site actively sending spam or serving malware is suspended until it is cleaned, because at that point it is harming other people whether or not you meant it to.
REPORTING SOMETHING
If you believe something hosted here breaks this policy, tell us through the contact details on our Company page. Include the URL or IP address and what you observed — a specific report gets acted on quickly, a vague one does not.
HOW WE ENFORCE THIS
Where we can, we contact you first and give you a chance to fix it. Where the activity is causing active harm, we suspend first and explain immediately afterwards. Repeated breaches end the account.
